#44: Remote Work & Client Attraction Tips
Today I went a-Googling and found some cool remote jobs for ya!
Greetings waveform storytellers,
My husband’s computer coding sounding board, Anaquackin, and I are here to rock your remote podcast editing work world. I’ll explain why I’ve invited him into the newsletter in the extended version of this newsletter below.
Sub-newsletter subscription (free/paid)
MASSIVE TECH issue on Substack with this. Please IGNORE this sub-newsletter section for now. I am SO about all the emails today!
…………………………………………………..
And don’t forget, you’re a professional podcast editor so you can write off the $5 per month or $50 per year subscription because it’s a business expense! (Not sure if this holds globally so check your local tax laws for specifics)
Global Podcast Editors is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
So here’s what this sub-newsletter will look like.
I’ve reshaped these remote work posts to emphasize making genuine connections over applying for jobs. I explained why here.
PART 1: applying for jobs (what we’re familiar with)-now in the free version
PART 2: making genuine connections so people offer you work (what we need to do more of) available in the paid subscription version only. These are tips and tricks from my own experience. In today’s section, I share how to prepare for a coffee chat with a podcast editor that you’ve scheduled a call with.
Global Podcast Editor Chat This Thursday
Lastly, This Thursday we have another LIVE Global Podcast Editor Chat on YouTube. And did you know that we’re repurposing all of the lives in podcast versions as well? This week’s LIVE is at 11am London/6am New York, but check the YouTube link for your correct timezone, please. If you’re awake, human, and want to join us in the chat room, we’d love to see ya there.
Let’s get remote gig quakin!
Steph
PART 1: Applying for jobs
2 quick things:
JOB TITLES: There are wonky job labels in many of these posts so I’m checking to make sure they’re podcast editing related.
I’M A REMOTE WORK-SEEKER TOO: I’m NOT involved with the hiring process for any of these jobs. I’m looking for jobs along with you and sharing what I find.
100% remote podcast editing work (NO “remote U.S.” nonsense here!) :
Where I found today’s jobs: Google. LinkedIn, Indeed, etc were blah today.
Audio Editor: House of Pod, $48,000 annual retainer // $4,000 monthly
My favorite part of the posting: “You listen to podcasts and are excited to develop a unique sound in your work.”

Podcast Editor: Humble Pod: full-time. Pay range is $35,000 – $45,000.
Looks like a small team in the southern U.S. and that you’d get a variety of experiences with “editing 10-15 podcast episodes per week.” Warning: they state that you need to know Adobe and Izotope. Wonder if that’s flexible. https://www.humblepod.com/careers/podcast-editor/
