#50: How much can you make podcast editing?
and other things to make your remote podcast editing life less isolated and more informed
Saw this on a street I was walking down in Split, Croatia a couple of days ago. It really bugged me that the headset was gone. How? Why? The end of the story was nowhere in sight. That’s the opposite of today’s info fest! We’ve got you story covered. Dipped in storyness. Storylicious? (((stopping, promise)))
Greetings wavies,
Here’ are some espresso shot posts on things that just couldn’t wait until our next issue!

☕ June 17: Tod Maffin: Podcasting & Story
I’ve been listening to Today in Digital Marketing for at least a couple of years now. When my husband and I left China to “move” to Europe, I was hoping to transition over into Marketing. Tod Maffin’s (below) podcast was one of the tools that helped me get up to speed and get a few interviews, I’m convinced. Although I didn’t end up in Marketing, I still listen to and often apply and share the things I learn in his podcast because it’s short, practical, honest, and oddly funny. Which I never thought a marketing podcast could be.
He’s on Geopats because he’s mentioned the podcast changes here and there over time in TDM so I had a feeling he’d be an interested person to chat about the ins and outs of it all. And YES, this was a good hunch. If you’re someone who perks up when the words STORY and COMMUNITY are mentioned in terms of podcasts, then this is a conversation for you. Oh yea, he has some great monetization ideas also but I think you’ll stay for the stories.

“Join us for our upcoming workshop, as we take a close look at all the original writing that goes into publishing a podcast — everything from titles, blurbs, and intros, to transitions, ad copy, and credits.
We'll talk about the work each section has to do to strengthen and most effectively represent your audio, and share best practices (SEO optimization, AP Style) for getting better at writing copy in general.”
